About Dr John McCarthy
Dr John McCarthy is the creator of Cyber Strategy Translation®, a management discipline developed to help organisations convert technical cyber evidence into business exposure, organisational consequence, executive judgement and accountable action.
He developed the Cyber Strategy Translation Framework™, a Five-Layer operational framework that gives organisations a repeatable method for applying the discipline through executive governance, strategic planning and cyber decision-making.
Through Oxford Systems, Dr McCarthy advises boards, executive teams, critical national infrastructure operators and aviation organisations on cyber governance, executive decision-making, assurance, resilience and organisational risk.
His work combines practical consulting, executive education and academic research to bridge the persistent gap between technical cyber security and board-level decision-making. The objective is not to produce more technical reporting, but to enable better executive decisions.
